Capitula

[recensere]

Hi there, I think it is fine to split the book into chapters. Normal practice (what I normally encounter) is ## name ## rather than using <section> tags, probably because it is less likely to make a typo. Both work of course! JimKillock (disputatio) 04:25, 19 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply

Please take a moment to review and share your feedback. This is the proposed table of contents for the book, to be finalized before we begin creating the pages.

Where in this does the text starting Quoniam ætate nostra paucos excellenti memoria fit in? JimKillock (disputatio) 09:43, 19 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
After "..... caeteris facere monet mea doctrina."
See Page 37

I mean, this text, starting on VIR (22) Quoniam ætate nostra paucos excellenti memoria does not seem to be in the list above? It appears after the poem Papiae and is not part of (Capitulum?) Prima. JimKillock (disputatio) 02:54, 20 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
I agree with you. Do you have any suggestions on title for the part? 37.106.199.246 20:27, 20 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps Prologus ? or Praefatio? JimKillock (disputatio) 21:20, 20 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
Great. please add it to ToC 37.106.199.246 21:23, 20 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
Foenix/Epistula 3 where to split the page? 37.106.199.246 19:37, 22 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
Antonius Iuanus Cancellarius &c.' signs off the first letter on the page.
Tui iuris Lãcellotus Decius Iuris utriuſqꝫ doctor. is the sign off for the letter above it, the second letter on the page
Paduæ Domino Petro memoriæ Magistro is the title of the poem JimKillock (disputatio) 19:57, 22 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
like this? Foenix 91.198.251.56 06:16, 23 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yes: I would not give these additional titles that are not in the book, except for the navigation / contents page. On reflection, it might be better, given how short these are, to place all the Epistolae on one chapter, and the Carmina on another, so two rather than seven pages. (Also, Carmina ( Pl) rather than Poemae). That way, if we really felt "Epistolae" and "Carmina" were needed for ease of reading, they would at least be less intrusive as they would only appear once each. I get your point, but it is easier for translation, special if you are using ChatGPT.
The most interesting part for me is memory techniques. 91.198.251.56 05:50, 27 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
What is the advantage you are getting for translation? I am not sure I understand.
If we combine the letters and poems on 1-2 pages, this would help people get to the main content that they are expecting, ie the sections on memory techniques. This would surely be easier for readers.
At the moment it is both difficult to naviate and contains information not in the book, so I do think it needs revisiting.
On translation, why not create a translted verion on English Wikisource? This could be legitimately be structured to suit a modern audience. JimKillock (disputatio) 20:17, 27 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
Whatever you see fit, I am with you. 91.198.251.56 05:59, 28 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
And by the way, they are 4 letters and 4 poems 91.198.251.56 06:00, 28 Iulii 2025 (UTC)Reply
Maybe like this group together?
