What are you doing?[recensere]

By the way, what is up with your edits, you seem to be removing valid content!--Doug.(Disputatio Conlationes) 18:11, 7 Iulii 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

To clarify, these works belong either her or on fr.ws but not both and not in pieces!--Doug.(Disputatio Conlationes) 18:13, 7 Iulii 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Could you, please, give me an example of your remark ? 18:17, 7 Iulii 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, another user has explained to me that you are actually splitting pages up and using {{iwpage}} to transclude the content, I've seen that for whole pages but never for partial pages and it looked very strange. Sorry for the misunderstanding.--Doug.(Disputatio Conlationes) 18:37, 7 Iulii 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • To transclude what to mainspace ? We don’t can’t tansclude the latin text on fr.ws but the latin text doesn’t have to be on fr.ws.
  • Totally agree. That’s what is already done everywhere, isn’t it ? Moreover, on fr.ws, the link is always display when iwpage is used (not only on without text pages), I think it’s more logical.
  • OK, if you have no interest in transcluding the work that way but then what is the point, why don't you just use labeled section transclusion or just don't transcribe it? On some subdomains the policy is that it must look like the original as much as possible which means that side-by-side (or in this case over-under) text should be displayed as such in the main space. It's very difficult but gives the side-by-side effect intended by the author rather than just a language link. iwpage is not particularly useful for this as it makes cross-domain formatting extremely cumbersome.
  • I'll have to talk to phe about that and see what needs to be brought over in the common.css/.js; it's not a bad idea. I didn't know it worked that way on fr. The advantage to showing it as "without text" though is that you can see at a glance from the index, which pages are not locally transcribed.--Doug.(Disputatio Conlationes) 10:40, 29 Augusti 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • This isn't the only problem. If the page quality level isn't set to =0, then <pages/> won't skip it. If you skip it manually (by using two <pages/> calls) then a bug in that process will cause the last page number to be dropped.--Doug.(Disputatio Conlationes) 21:45, 5 Septembris 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The iwpage is very strange and contains some bugs (plus, a real IW-transclusion is ready but not in use…) but right now it’s the best tool for multilingual texts.

Vigneron, what is "real IW-transclusion" and why isn't it in use? Can you link me to the extension at mediawiki? Is it available or not really ready by the WMF developer standards, only for private wikis? But one of the biggest problems with interwiki transclusion in the first place is that if I set up a work here on la and the parallel text on another subdomain, the two subdomains will inevitably have different templates, different css, and probably different rules that will bring these into conflict no matter how the transclusion technically occurs.--Doug.(Disputatio Conlationes) 10:40, 29 Augusti 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm not a specialist but for what I understood : right now, transclusion are just a not-so-good hack. In an otherhand, during there is that mw:User:Peter17/Reasonably efficient interwiki transclusion. This features (not an extension but directly in Mediawiki) could allow to do better transclusion.
Diffrences between wikisources is not an sich a bad thing. It's really annoying and we should strive to harmonize things to avoid conflicts. But we should not impose everything everywhere (that nearly impossible and there is no need).
PS: Désolé d’occuper ta page Fabrice :S
